Resident Reports Rock Thrown At Vehicle

Law enforcement officials are conducting an investigation in an attempt to identify the person or persons responsible for throwing a rock at a passing vehicle last week.

The thirty-five year old victim reported to deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department that he was driving his Ford Expedition east along Walker Road in Summertown at around 11:10 p.m. He said that as he approached he noticed a four door tan Nissan or Toyota car parked at the railroad trestle.

He told deputies that as he drove past his passenger side rear window broke into pieces. He told deputies that it sounded “like someone had thrown a rock or something at it.”

The victim told deputies he was afraid to stop, so he drove down the road some ways before calling for assistance.

It was estimated that there was around$200 damage to the vehicle.

Although there were no immediate leads in the case, reports show that it is believed that it could be related to other incidents of vandalism that had been reported in that vicinity.
